Tim Abromaitis, Ashton Gibbs and Scoop Jardine survived the cut. Sent home were the other two Big East players, last minute addition (to the tryout team) Shabazz Napier from Connecticut and West Virginia transfer Aaric Murray.

The team will continue two-a-days at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs, Colorado through through August 7. The team will depart for China on August 8. The squad will play an exhibition game against New Century, a professional team in the Chinese Basketball Association, in Huizho, China, on Aug. 11. They will then travel to Shenzhen (China) to open World University Games play on Aug. 13.
